Around the Pattern
Membership
At the last Club meeting, a membership dues adjustment proposal was presented. Through timely renewal and electronic receipt of the newsletter, most members would see no dues change. Various age brackets would also be re-defined to align with AMA and State Park brackets. A vote on the proposal is scheduled to take place at the September Club meeting. All members are encouraged to attend.
September Club Meeting Location
The location of the September Club Meeting will be William Penn High School in Cafeteria II as construction at that site should be completed by our meeting date. If there is any last-minute construction glitch requiring us to relocate, the notice will be sent via e-mail and posted at the field.
Event Change
The EAA East Coast Fly-In, scheduled for September 6-7 and long an annual staple of the full-scale aviation scene in and around Delaware, has been cancelled this year. In its place, EAA Chapter 240 will hold a Fly-In and pancake breakfast on those days at the New Garden Airport. Many aircraft are expected to attend and free aircraft rides will be available to kids (a parent needs to be present) through the Young Eagles program. There is no admission charge. Come on out and enjoy the days!
Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame Banquet Information
The public is invited to the honors banquet on October 11th. A 6 p.m. reception will precede dinner at 7. Phil Boyer, president of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, will be speaker. AOPA is the world’s largest general aviation organization.
Admission to the jacket-and-tie evening is $45 per person. Tickets are available through the Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 4303, Greenville DE 19807-0303.
Tables for eight may be arranged by calling (302) 577-5044.
Help Keep Us Keep You Up To Date
In order to keep all our members informed of all Club news, it is crucial that the Club remain informed of all changes to our members’ contact information. Please send all changes of address and phone number to our Treasurer, Dick Stewart (302-368-2911 or BALTICPLY@aol.com). E-mail address changes should be sent to John Kirchstein (jakirchstein@comcast.net) and Carl Hauger (cewhauger@yahoo.com).
